Athens museums: free days and opening hours
On 28 October the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, the National Archaeological Museum and the other state sites are free for everyone, and from November to March the state sites are free on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month. Each site's own page is linked.

Which Athens museums are open on Tuesday?
The Acropolis and the other archaeological sites open every day, as does the Acropolis Museum. The Byzantine and Christian Museum, the National Gallery and the Museum of Cycladic Art close on Tuesdays, and the National Archaeological Museum opens at 13:00 on Tuesdays.

Christmas and New Year
The state sites, the National Archaeological Museum and the Acropolis Museum close on 25 and 26 December, 1 January, 1 May and Orthodox Easter Sunday; the state sites and the National Archaeological Museum also close on 25 March, which is a free day at the Acropolis Museum. The Acropolis Museum closes at 15:00 on 24 and 31 December.

Do I need to book a time for the Acropolis?
